I think we can lay claim to the shell-less eggs in vinegar thing. Daniel (my nephew) and I were doing egg experiments, and he liked this one so much he wanted to bring it to the chicken meet. We covered regular eggs in vinegar and let them soak for a few days (changed the vinegar once). The vinegar reacts with the calcium in the shells, I think, and within a few days they look like that. You can see right through them, and are kind of rubbery until you squeeze too hard - then it's very, very liquid. I think he was hoping there would be kids there that might want a tossing contest. Definitely the egg-chick-pics above are the next experiment on the list - too cute not to try.
We had lots of rain, lots of wind, and hail at least three times here in Clairemont last night.

I love EEs, NNs Marans, and Welsummers !!!!! I want to make a mix of Polish (for the crest) Ameraucana for the blue colored eggs, Marans and EEs for size and color of eggs, Silkie for black skin and NNs for durability, production, good personalities and all around wonderfulness. MY goal a NN/EE with black skin and crest. ha ha ha
