And this is just the beginning, because you find all these breeds you can't live without and have to get another......
It was great meeting you and Rick, Elara.
And Dana, One of your ee's that Elara got had super super super long and soft feathers. Like a long-haired version of a cat only a chick. Almost like a silkie to feel.
I beginning to think you guys gave me a kitten. No really - it has fur. Is this a newbie prank? See how long before she notices that she's not getting any eggs. Two of the furry ones make little purring noises at night, too, when they get super comfortable (did I mention they're on my bedroom floor?). Two of them have feet so big they look like loons. Fur down the legs on some. And the yellow ones look like a dandelion raised by marshmallow peeps had a night of sin with big bird, then got left in the dryer too long - static cling everywhere. I can't look at any of them without smiling ear to ear. How the heck am I supposed to give these things to my Mom?

I'm not the only sucker in the crowd, as I didn't even have to work on the DH - and I mean at all - before he started talking about building another section to our coop. He has announced that this is the new weekend project.

You guys are all fantastic (And patient, M, as you sat in your car and I frantically ran around Mary's trying to find you yelling, "Where are my peeps? Don't leave before I get my peeps!" Please do not post any film you might have of that on YouTube.). And very kind to a newbie, even when you give me kittens instead of chicks. I will post pics of them as soon as I find the camera, which I'm sure is somewhere under the shavings, mash, and maybe my husband.

The good news is that I can cancel extended cable. There's nothing up there that is nearly as entertaining as this.

By the way, Cari, DH says that your generosity of spirit is the root of all of our current "excitement," and I'm not allowed to talk to you for at least a year - or maybe not until we live on something that can be described by the word "acre" instead of "feet." Ha!

Wow. I looked at the pink chicken pic. Twice, to make sure that's actually what I saw. I will tell the peeps that we both have a long way to go until we hit "extreme" on the chicken meter. I'm sure Hubby will be comforted with the current, and alarmed at the potential. Wow.

LOL... I really love your turn of phrase. Do you write for a living? If you don't you should.

I'm (as) speechless (as I get). I think I'll be smiling for the rest of the day, and thank you. I do accounting and HR, so this is the only chance I get to talk to real people who don't want to throw things at me (other than kittens).

Thanks again to all of you for your kindness.

Ooh Cari,

She is SO cute. How much do baby goats cost anyway? Chicken/Goat Math is so hard.

She is asking $200 for this little baby, she is a bottle baby and pedigreed and everything! AND she'll be a great milker when she gets older!

I've seen good purebred goats go as high as $800.

Of course you can get just plain 'ol mutt goats (brush eaters) for cheap to nothing, especially the boys, but they don't make milk.

Aww thanks! I can't help but get excited over things I love and then I can't help but to pass it on!
