San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Are you guys really taking that thing to Norco?

Nah, I've already started tearing the inside out, not being careful of the electrical.. . . not that the lights worked anyhow.
Why can't you just tether it with cross ties in the back of the truck like you would do with a dog? I've seen entire herds of goats in the back of a toyota pick up truck not tied to anything.

Dana, you made be choke with that picture! I was just kidding. . . but after seeing that picture I do think now that it could have been a possibility.

I did cross tie all the other goats I brought home (like a dog) but because this one is SO far away and all freeway driving I want to be extra safe.

Ok, thanks. I think I will be going a bit late anyway.

Nancy - your first chick from the new batch of NHs has hatched!!
Maybe I could bring them along as well?

I am so bummed that I can't go. I seriously thought about just throwing Alex in the car and driving north, but he sounds like a barking seal and has a fever... I don't think he'd appreciate the car trip. (But maybe if I tarped up the back seat, goat-style, it would be an adventure!) At least this way I can't add any more chickens, right?

I'm going to have a few boys to rehome shortly (once I figure out exactly who the boys are). One of them (for sure a boy) is a super cute barred Olive Egger... he's adorable!

I am totally OUT of feed. I went to the feed store to tie us over. I have extras if anyone NEEDS it NOW. I will be in Norco tomorrow and can bring it or if you want someone to bring it back, that is fine too.

Kruse's Organic Chick Starter & Grower.

PM with interest and price.
