While I am in the house chatting, the ladies have been rioting. I made it up by giving them mealworms. Boy, were they ****** off at me.

I hope my hatch goes well too.

I ended up with 15 out of 18 Wellies and all of the Ameraucanas hatched - there were either 4 or 6 of them. I have so many chicks that it's hard to keep track. I use little zip ties that are color coded: Blue for Ameraucaunas, Green for Olive Eggers, Clear for Silkies, Yellow for splits, pink for sexed chicks - female, Orange for sexed chicks males, red for culls, etc

I have a 50 of DE coming, but even with three coops, that's obviously more than I need for a bit. If anyone would like to buy a few 5 or 10-pound lots, I would be happy to split the bag a little (I'd keep 25, the rest would be fine).

I cannot read these at work. My boss is going to come in any minute and wonder why I'm snorting (laughter) in here. Don't know which is more amusing - the mental pic of the goat in the Geo Metro, or the cat carriers. I will not read this stuff again until I'm home.

P.S. Cari - I understand there's a newly-refurbished trailer parked in front of a house somewhere, with great ventilation, no upholstery for the goaties to eat and get sick on, and extra road-trip buddies in residence. And you could sleep in Norco for free if you got too drunk at the chicken fest. Sounds like you'd better start to bargain...

If you need any spent beer grain for your rabbits just let me know as I have some extra. I'm pretty sure the rabbits love it because every morning there is plenty of rabbit manure in the chicken run. The rabbits come in from the canyon and have a feast every night. Let me know.
