San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

It's been a long time since I've popped on this page and had 28 new posts waiting for me. My new favorite word of the day: poopaper. I challenge myself to use the word poopaper in general, non-chicken conversation sometime today.

I hope the MM order is speedy. I've already had to go buy a 50 lb. bag of regular organic chick starter from Kahoots, and it's halfway gone. I swear my chicks are inviting friends over for crumble parties when I'm not looking.

I haven't measured yet (it's at Jeannie's house), but I can't beat 36" tall on mine. Sold, to the lady with chicken poop on her shoes.

I will assume that a horse trailer co-op will soon be in the works. Where do I send the check?

Elara, Pardon YOU. For your information, I do not have poop or poopaper on my shoes.

For what its worth I brought all four of my goats home in the back of a Geo Metro. I used a horse stall guard to block the back seat from the front and put the seat down. When they travel they lay down so if the carrier is just barely tall enough it should work fine. Just remember even a small goat like a pygmy or Nigerian dwarf weighs eighty or ninety pounds.

Another thought too. If you are going to get into the goat milk business it might be wise to build a small transport cage for the back of the truck something with wheels and a solid floor. could be simple to build using people gates and kennel clamps. built around a pallet with a plywood floor screwed on to it.

I've been wanting/ needing a horse trailer but haven't been able to talk my boyfriend into one yet... maybe, just maybe, if I find one cheap enough...
