Here is one of the little Cuckoo Marans that almost didn't make it. Three days later it seems as healthy and hearty as the rest of them!



The photoshoot bonus was that nobody pooped in the plants.

This is a hatching BLRW double yolker. One baby developed and wants to join us!!
I had assumed it would not hatch and then I saw this:


and then this:



This morning it was unzipping but seemed to be a bit stuck in the second yolk.





So pulled off some shell and out popped the head:



It is almost out now and I am letting it do its thing on its own. So exciting!!

Also, I think this maybe our first cream legbar x wheaten ameraucana. It could potentially have had a different father but if so should not have been a blonde chick. We will have to wait to be sure on that.

Just curious.... is there a local source for egg cartons here in San Diego.... or does any one have a few extras? My guineas are beginning to Lay.... Yay.
