San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Looks like that pretty horse helps. Is she available to smooth pastures?
With chickens, I agree about the aviary cover. Our has large oak tree cover, so far so good. Dogs are on other side of fence, and I think that helps. Always lock 'em up at dusk.

You mean Katee Queen of the Desert? Hee hee. She would love it.... But shes a fruit Loop. Silly girl. My avatar is us in a Farm class at the Del Mar Fair. Just after that picture was the line up for ribbons which we got through. But the winner of the class was asked to do a victory lap and Katee said Woo Hoo a race MA..... I got her stopped near the race tracks.....

I have to admit she had only been in harness hitched to a vehicle for only about two months at the time. Oh she LOVED that show.

You know when I posted this I ment to say Aviary Netting..... The kind that is like a fishnet. You can support them in the middle with a tether ball pole capped with a piece of plywood or even a tether ball.

Does anyone have the link where people can type in there zip code and find out what the chicken laws are for their area?
Thanks for your help.

I doubt that any web site for national or even state 'CHICKEN LAWS" has be created yet. Best to just look up the local ordinances by looking up the local government links.

IN addition to what Flower said there may be separate regs for areas and devleopments. There is also a whole category on ordinances discussions right her on BYC.

You might key in words pertaining to your area in the search box too.

San Diego just went through some Ordinance changes but I believe thats the City of San Diego I could be wrong if I am someone will chime in.

Oh, The meet-up sounds like such fun. I guess "I'm square" because I cannot come. Short notice for me, because I go to Japan next week. Maybe the next one...How does one find out earlier. I'm just new and learning to navigate. Thanks!

Best way to stay informed is to peruse the threads. Tons of information is posted and it is difficult to keep abreast and read them all so just select those that you want to follow.

Today there were so many feathers outside I actually had to count heads. (No losses, just molting. Lots and lots of molting!)

Wish I could make it to Norco, but I am solo and don't want to drag the Squirt on a chicken excursion... it does sound like a super-fun way to spend the day!
