San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

There are a few more that I am unsure of. But I really don't know what these are. They came in an assortment from Murray McMurray if that helps.

Corimckee, here's a picture of a McMurray hatchery Brown Leghorn chick just a few days old.
I'd say that's a pretty good guess. I remember mine being smaller than the other chicks that hatched the
same time.

Thank you to everyone who came to the meet-up. We had a wonderful time hosting and getting to know everyone. I was so impressed with how well behaved all the kids were and how well they all got along. Luke had an absolute blast. Anytime you all want to have another one here, just let me know.

Dana - thanks for postiing and taking all the photos. You made our place look so, well, nice. Props to the photographer.

Mary - we would live to come out to the desert some time. We have been talking about taking a road trip through the Southwest. Let us know when you are settled in.
All of those kids have been growing up together around the chicken meets.

I think that being around each other and the animals has made a little community. RyeRanch I'll keep you posted but it will be just crazy for a few months. May is my favorite month in the southern AZ desert because everything is in bloom including the Saguaro.

What kind of an assortment was it? That could be an Easter Egger, or it even looks a bit like a Welsummer chick, too. Time will tell!

The cheese and jam w bought at the meet up its yummy!
The frizzle hen is happy, she found the nest box and actually used it yesterday, is getting along good with the silkies, even the babies, as long as the barred rocks stay on their own side of the fence lol she doesn't like them at all. Precious precious girl I love her thanks kkh

A rainbow layers assortment and a brown layers assortment. It is so fun trying to guess what everyone is.
Well, then NOT a leghorn (white layer). Of the three EE's I got from McMurray only one had muffs and a beard. You'll have fun waiting and seeing what it is, and if it's an EE, you'll have fun waiting to see what color egg it lays. Lots of fun in store for you!!
