Anyone have a favorite bedding for nesting boxes? I have been using shavings but my ladies make such a huge mess with them.

I use shavings. But I could see how it could get messy. Have you tried Bermuda Hay its softer than straw. If you go to the feed store often times they will let you fill a garbage bag of leavings for free.

Your turkeys don't fly out of there? When I used to have Jersey Buffs, they were always flying over things, perching on top of fences, buildings....

It looks like at least one of my Miniature Cheviot ewes is bred and about to deliver soon.... I guess I am going to have spring lambs! What a surprise as I had not known the ewes I purchased were bred and I never thought to ask! I guess its true what they say about making assumptions..... LOL

Heather, You have more than one? You need to post a pic of you next to them so we can get an idea of how big they are.

Cari, You're so industrious! If I put something like that up it'd be over at my neighbor's already. The winds we've had the past 24 hours makes my yard look like a hurricane hit. Looks good!

Thank you! We've had REALLY bad wind here too, though probably not as bad as your place. We have to stake all 6 legs down with 3 foot stakes, and have self tapped all the joints with screws... my rabbit one did blow away, but it had sides and a back and caught the wind. This one being more open doesn't catch as easy... I'm still worried about it though. We're also hooking it to the rest of the chain link fence to help keep it from blowing away. =)
