RHRanch, can't wait to see your new little sheep baby!

Hello San Diego,

Does anyone have started Swedish flower hens or Creamleg bar cockerels and pullets? Something the size to start a small (4-5 backyard bird flock).

thanks everyone

Wasn't planning on it. Unfortunately don't have space in the fridge. Really small. We have a chest freezer that is fairly small also but it uses very little energy and works well with our solar. These will be the first.....

This rain and icy cold off Palomar is killling me. Dreaming of à heat wave

You could use a big ice chest to chill them down. Lots of ice set outside.... This time of year.... You probably would be able to keep the chill on a long time before the ice melts. Birds sealed in bags of course.

Just a lateral Thought.

Just for the record I usually try to only start 48 eggs each week.

Jules gets to chose 24 of those. I don't really think it is my fault if she doesn't chose the "correct" 24 eggs

. After she leaves my house, I have to fire up another incubator to start the "correct" eggs.

Well the hovabator holds 41 eggs and I can't have it just half full. Then, at the meetup I won some duck and chicken eggs. How can I not start those? It is like a sin not to start fertile eggs that others have graciously given to you. Then one of my neighbors has fertile eggs and no incubator. Should I be a selfish neighbor and say "I don't have room for your eggs!!"

Fire up another hovabator. Again a half full incubator doesn't work for me. Right now I have 4 hovabators with 41 eggs each and the OvaEasy with 144 eggs. What's that? 308 eggs or potential bundles of joy.
