A client reciently called and asked me to come and pickup a very noisy guinea fowl that flew in to there yard three days prior and was waking up the neighborhood screeching at 5am. Needless to say it was not used to being handled and bit me Real good. Anyway its up at Gails ranch now and I have been trying to figure out if it's m or f, I just don't know anything about them. I would appreciate any help and if anyone has experience with them. Can they live w/o other guinea around or do they need a mate?
Thanks
Jules
Ps; I wish I had a video of the Imus meeting the guinea. One of them must have started talking smack about the others momma.... WOW what a show!

I am still looking for fresh fertile double yolker eggs.
Offering a CREAM LEGBAR egg in one for one exchange !!!!
Hopefully that is motivation!!!
Looking forward to Sunday!

Ahhhhh! Wish mine were laying doubles! But only a couple and infertile(didnt have roo with them at the time) way early this year and none since...

So, I'm pretty sure I know what neighbor complained to the city about our beloved little roo (rather than come to me first). She's nasty in general and dislikes animals as a whole.

It would be a shame if a noisy guinea took up residence in the trees in her backyard ..... LOL! I wouldn't actually do that to the bird, but its a lovely thought. White millet you say?

LOL... Most people wouldnt know what the sound was. It would be a simple matter to set up some descreet speakers...... set them up to go off when ever your rooster crowed...... and then claim you are raising a rare endangered ground fowl.... Gallus Confundus....

hee hee.... um hee....

Can hens and eggs be moved to a safer location once they go broody? My hens picked a dangerous spot for their babies to be born and I would love to move them to safer spot with out affecting the nest.
Yes they can be moved. If you do it at night your chances of sucsess are much greater.
