25 baby roos! yikes! Well better to you than the grinder right? post em on CL for free and someone will come get them, I always found takers. Ideal has given me RIR and BR peanuts, plus once I got a bantam BR with a crooked beak and wry tail. I kept it cause I felt the need to mommy it and it turned out female. She is now my sweet egg eating, slightly crooked hen and I love her! lol
Seems odd to me, my peanuts were always pretty much equal to the amount I ordered, give or take 1 or 2.

**there you go Cara will take care of it see? now you can order more haha.

Aww, Leah is ADORABLE!!! What spoiled duck!

Cara- Actually, I do like the Modern game, in a sort of ''Monsters Inc" kind of way. They are quite intriguing, and I've heard they make great show birds for the 4H kids. I always tease my daughter that she looks most like that breed chicken, small and skinny with long legs! I get back a lot of dirty looks. I think she probably compares me to a Buff Orpington. LOL. But on my new BYC chicken diet, I should be a svelt game hen in no time!! I don't know if I'm allowed any packing peanuts, but we'll see what DH says as the meet up draws nearer. I think I could use one for my 6 layers, for protection, here goes the chicken math again!!

BTW: First launch of the new San Diego Chickens Website: www.sandiegochickens.net has occured. I still have some pages to work on, but I have the info up right now. If you find any bugs, let me know, nothing is ever perfect in the beginning. TigerrrrrLilly is working on a possible permit for the park, so the location is tentative right now, but if you know you will be attending, please RSVP, so we can start a headcount.

Sunny CA, the website is awesome. Thank you for loading the Hawthorne Chick Day info. I guess it starts 26 Feb. Who Hoo, 30 types of chiclets!

Cara, I'm a bit worried...can't wait to see what you show up with at the meet-up.

And Leah is a high fashion beauty queen. She is one gorgeous (and lucky) duck.

Please count me in for the meetup. I'm trying to convince my DH to come, too.

yes, location is not for sure yet. As I suspected, most parks require for 40+ people (like we had last time) a use permit. No big deal to get one, but if we were to have an event with too many people without one and somebody of authority doesn't like it, it's possible the organizer may be fined and we could all be sent away. I learned this when speaking to City of SD Parks and rec and also the senior ranger of Mission Trails. It worried me, I don't want me or anyone to pay fines. So from now on, I want to make sure (because we could easily get past 40 people this time around, not to mention the trouble the birds might cause if anyone were to complain) we get legal as we continue to grow in numbers!

I am waiting on the call tomorrow morning to get the ok, the permit if necessary and the best location to hold it. I hope you all agree and are ok with Mission Trails (my guess probably Lake Murray Park area since it's not preserve and has large picnic areas, not sure yet though).

For future meets I'll see if I can make calls and get together a list of parks etc. and also rec. centers for winter indoor meets that will allow us to do same. I thought maybe kearny mesa might be a choice for later because all of the freeways adjoin there.

I voted! Your page looks terrific! And lovely Leah looks like she's going to enjoy the pampered life...

I looked at the website, but just got a placeholder page. Maybe you're working on it right now.

I'm hoping to come to the meet-up on the 20th, no matter where it might be.
