first time outside in a recycled planter box. Seem to be having fun exploring all over although they seem to like the shade the best. Lots of chirping!

My seabright has gone broody. I have a Plymouth barred rock that has been sitting for 2 weeks now. I don't know what is happening. Everyone is going broody? I thought these two were rare to go broody?

I'm back from New Mexico, and being the crazy person I am, I brought home 10 Turkey eggs from my moms ranch..... looking for someone in north county that could possibly incubate for me..... need them to go in by wed. Let me know if any of you hatchaholics (I mean that as a compliment Lol) have space in your incubator.

On another note, I was away for almost three weeks, and I am happy to say all (but one- polish roo) my chickens survived under the care of my various family members that took turns. We collected 19 eggs yesterday (two days worth) so we are doing OK. I have feathers everywhere so looks like a few are molting. My chicks all seem to have grown up in my absence!!! We definitely have lots of roos .. but also some very beautiful pullets. I'm going to have to shift a few around since some have outgrown their current space. I missed my chickens ;) Lol

I have returned! And thankfully missed the whole convo on spiders. Anyway, haven't been posting or updating my blog since I'm getting ready for college. Updates on the birds - my Silkie x JGs are HUGE. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to get my hands on more Silkies than I thought since this first batch doesn't have the trademark Silkie look. (I've heard that they have LF of Silkie in Europe, any one know if that's true?) They are also a bit more aggressive, but they are both at the top of the pecking order. They have some wonky plummage going on tho. Other than that, they have dark skin, 4 toes (noooo) and beautiful black feathers.

The other birds are doing fine. We added two gold sex links and a wyandotte a few weeks back and after a month of 'seeing but not touching', they were finally allowed to interact uninterrupted for three days. They seem to have settled in nicely.

Also, I think my birds are molting too! I went in and there was feathers EVERYWHERE.

found it and all ready emailed them! Thank you for sharing, cross your fingers for me please! I would love to have this!
