San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Does anyone have (ideally) a white (but will be ok with a black, splash or blue) day old silkie or 1 week old ( not hatchery) because only one chick hatched yesterday and she is going to be very lonely by herself. I can drive to pick her /him up. Thank you

I have crested cream Legbars. Both standard cream and white. They lay blue eggs and you can tell girls from boys at hatch. Eggs and chicks currently for sale.

Rye, can you post some pictures?

My Euskal Oiloa rooster got picked off by a raptor I think, so I bought a half dozen eggs off of Skyline. He must have sent me two dozen in extras... of course NONE of them survived past week 2. The only breed I REALLY wanted to hatch! Does anyone happen to have any locally?

And you know, when you have all that extra room in the Styrofoam box, you think "Maybe I should hatch some other stuff"

Lav blue black splash Ams
bantam buttercups
Arkansas blues
red dorking
silver penciled rock

Yikes!

and the 20+ Olandsk I just put in there Saturday night.

Don't let me get any more chickens ok?

In addition to the breeds, I'd love to know if any of you have a Facebook page we can all go "like"...
Mine is http://www.facebook.com/IndigoRidgeFarm

I currently have/will be offering:

Here's the chicks (pardon them - they love to spread food all over the place):

Here's one of the moms. They range from lightly crested to the toupee style crests.

The eggs:

Here's the dad in his younger day (the one in the front - the back guy was not a winner.) He is a little fuller now and kept his straight crest! I feel like that is a victory in itself with these guys. His tail is also not quite so stark looking now.

There was a white rooster who became Coyote food a few days ago. No photos available of him :(

Phage (Miriam) hatched some Basque chicks just before the holidays. She may have some still. I don't think she has Basque eggs though.
