That's going to be me in three months. I'm going to try the killing cone, sharp tool in the brain thing. I think it's the responsible thing to do. Did you try to clean them or just toss? I tossed the last two juveniles I had to cull, I was too intimidated to even try to skin them

I plucked and cleaned them; though I think mistakenly left the lungs in the first one. I'll have to fix that. They're bantams, so small as far as meat chickens go, but I plan on cooking them up. The plucking was time consuming but easy - there isn't anything you can really mess up.

I was worried about where to cut and how well I'd get things out, but that went surprisingly well and wasn't as hard to do as I feared. It is the killing part I HATE. I'm the kind of person who tosses earthworms back on the lawn after a rain, and escorts spiders to the outside.

alisar, you can throw your culled birds in the freezer and later donate them a local wildlife rehab. I have a wolfdog sanctuary down the road and always give my culled birds to him if I'm not going to eat them. I'm sure if you just advertised someone with a big snake or something would take them off your hands.
