Hi!

I have the pullet shut auto door. It works great for the most part. You can set it at a specific time, or it has a sun up sun down feature with a light sensor. For our situation, the light sensor closed the door way too late for my liking. I think it was 30 minutes after sundown which is really dark. It has saved us many times when we are late getting back or want to go out for a bit. My only real issue with it I guess is that it isn't goat proof

. My wether has chewed the power cords several times the little stinker. I think we have it 'secure' now. Their customer service is awesome, though.

We are ready to do this BYC thing. Searching for a really small alpine coop for 2-3, and "quiet" hens.
Possibly bantam ameracaunas? Any breed that tends to be not too vocal? No roosters for sure.
When I move out of this subdivision then I can expand...Happy Ostara.

Anyone want an EE rooster? He's midsize, just started crowing yesterday. I don't want any money for him but if you have any home grown fruits or veggies I'd love to trade for some!

Yo Alisar,

Yup my gal Buttercup is definitely a Sicilian Buttercup. Way mellow yet likes to hop out of her coop and explore, waits for me patiently to put her back in her house..(likes to sit on top of it at
dusk and make clucking noises untiI put her back in, she likes the attention).
she is a prodigious layer, pretty much every day. I have no roo for her so i don't know if her eggs will result in the classic "Buttercup comb, I will gladly give you some of her eggs for you to try tho..who knows you may get lucky.

:welcome Jan D! What part of the county are you in? You can convert a large dog house or a playhouse into a coop for just a few birds, especially if they're bantam. I have some little frizzled Naked Necks that lay very large blue eggs despite their small size. They're quiet too. If you're interested I could let a broody hatch out a few.

I don't know who would have bantam Ameraucana's in San Diego, but I know that NoseyChickens raises them. She's in North Edwards, but might be going to the meet up in Norco next weekend.
Also RHRanch recently posted that she has some bantams. Green egg layers, very pretty.

Happy Easter SD BYC peeps! I've got Cream Legbar Chicks (1-2 weeks old and more hatching) available in the City of SD (North Park).

Girls $35 boys $5.

The parents came from eggs BYCer Phage had shipped. The hen was from a large egg from BYCer Boykin2010.

PM me if you are interested. I also have an older CL cockerel for sale for $15.
