Allison and Charlotte, here's one for you, too:

Life in general is such a crazy balance, and stress can wreak havoc on your health and emotions. I think it's really smart to look ahead and plan for future happiness, whether that's here in SD or on some far-away piece of farmland. You'll never get back the precious few years that your kids are small, so I say enjoy them to the maximum!

Looking forward to seeing everybody next weekend. Until then, may we all experience no more losses, and welcome lots of new chicks!

I always get so emotional when one of my animals get sick or die. Since a little kid, I always had a great relationship with all kind of animals and it is hard to explain but I get so much happiness being around them. My husband doesn't always understand it lol

I wanted to thank everyone for your condolences for Maya. She truly was a gentle giant and she will be missed. We have decided not to do a necropsy and to use the money towards another LGD pup to help replace her. Please let me know if any of you know of any LGD pups available, preferably Anatolian, or short haired Pyrenees. Thank you.

Check out LGDnevada.com, I've bought two puppies from Brenda. I like how she raises her dogs. I think she has some Anatolian Crosses available or coming soon, but I wouldn't swear by it!

OK I am going to try to make the meetup.

I will bring as many Welsummer eggs as I can collect. I have about fifteen Wellie Hens, and three Roos I know those eggs are fertile.


I also will collect Wellie/silkey and Wellie/Araucana cross eggs. NO guarantee if they are fertile or which ones are which. But if its a Wellie/Araucana cross then the chick hatched should be an Olive egger right?


I also can bring some Guinea eggs too.

I will be very very interested in Oz's incubator workshop.

SoCal Dorkings has coloreds.

I was expecting 24 silver greys from Dick Horstman for my last trip but he let me down then refunded the money. I will try again in fall

I think Heirloom Heritage (on facebook) is Socal Dorkings (here on BYC). Don't quote me on that though.
So sorry to hear about the carnage! That's a shame. I think colored are possibly the nicest variation of the Dorking colors.

as long as its not the chopping block - those eggs are in my plans

I have almost 200 eggs in lock down and I am going over my spreadsheets planning the next three egg runs. i am beyond crazy.

May is full - 120 heritage and color egg chicken plus turkey, guinea and peafowl, July will be Ducks and heritage breed chickens. September will be the "pretties" - legbars, swedish, basques, salmon favs, sptizhaubens. polish, houdans and banties. That should complete my plan - well except for emu.

Mrs Oz is taking another go at cotournix mid may.

I really need to get started on coops.

Mrs Oz is off to the beach house/chicken farm today for a few days before heading off to Thailand on Wednesday. I hope to have pictures of hatching chickens by then!

I have 36 of those coloreds' eggs in my bator in the Philippines. Now there would be some irony if they become a household breed over there.
