I just preordered 15 brabanter pullets and 15 norwegian jaehorn pullets. I think I'll be pushing 50 chickens this summer. How did this happen?!?!

I started with the notion of just having to not buy eggs

now i have 7 coops with 6 more part built, nubian goats, pigs and a bloody water bufallo

LOL I have always had 3-4, finally have a property I can have roosters. Started building a bigger layer flock, decided there were a couple of specific breeds I was interested in, and it snowballed from there. Was updating my spreadsheet yesterday and realized I'm up to 67 chickens, with about 30 eggs in the incubator. In my defense about 50 of them are under the age of 4 months and I'll be selling some this spring to cut down in numbers, but ... Definitely understanding 'chicken math" LOL

OMG. I just told myself the SAME THING!

Ok, I'll come clean. I threw in 5 buttercup pullets too. I DID!

Ah until I can have the liberty of ordering chickens online and doing egg runs. I'd probavly get out of control!

In other news, the rents asked what I wanted for Christmas (after an argument over religious beliefs) I requested socks and underwear. Then was scolded for not asking for something 'proper', so I asked for an incubator.

yeah, got shot down pretty quick on that one.

What is everyone else planning on getting the fambam or themselves? (Great excuse for adding those chicks or pullets to the flock...hehe)

Just buying for the kids and doing a gag gift exchange for the adults. They're all buying for one another, but I'm not participating. Yeah...you can imagine my popularity right now. I did get hubby a big bottle of rum for those cold winter nights though...may dip into it one or twice myself.

Kids are getting Legos. They never tire of them and it's something they enjoy playing together.

No more animals for a while. I'm in over my head as it is! I'm attached to the 27 birds I have right now. I don't think I want to re-home any of them to make room for more. After a few years you start to become more sensible about chicken math.

All the workers will get one.

Analou will also get a smart phone so she can use whatsapp to text me and forward pics to me. If you go to one corner of the farm, stand with one foot of the ground and your head twisted, you can 2 bars of 3G.

All workers also get a 13th month pay at Christmas by law.
