LOL, when I first saw "LF", immediately I'm thinking "low-fat"? What's a low fat chicken?

It took reading several hatchery websites before I figured it out.

If I can come, I'll bring my kids, ages 6 & 8. I don't have any animals to trade or sell, but I may try my hand at making chicken diapers. With my indoor flock, I'd like to be able to let them out to stretch once in a while. I'm not much of a seamstress, but I'm always up for a good challenge.

Al, I almost missed this. As much as I love salted duck eggs I think baking with them is more divine. When my dad was alive, he use to salt them all the time. YUMMY. I use to buy the duck eggs when they had the Duck Farm off the 605 freeway. I think they moved up north now. The family sold out to a BIG operation.

If the quails hatch out, like I said, you can have them. I am cool.

We just have one duck and I know I could use some duck eggs too. Anyone in San Diego has duck eggs to sell? And how much?

Even though I should not, I bake ALOT. I used the duck eggs to bake that Chinese Fluff Cake. I do not know the real name in English but that is what I call it. Sort of like a chiffon. I am sure you know what I am talking about. It is very light and airy. With the duck eggs, it was so good. Never thought to bake with them until I heard about it at the last meet up.

Thank You for the PM reminder.

I will sure try to attend and bring some goodies. I am working in the morning of Jan 22 until about 12.30 PM and it will probably take me about 45 minutes from work to Ramona. Will I still have a chance to meet everybody???

Hi All! I'm in for Jan 22 in Ramona. Not sure what to bring, but I will let you know soon!!

Thanks to all for setting this up!!

Can't wait to meet everyone..

Now I only have two little hens, are you sure you all won't mind such a new kid on the block?

I'll bring a casserole or at least a main dish of some kind. How large of a dish?

I don't have anything to share or exchange...yet. What should I bring?

Don't worry. When I went to the last meet up. I did not even have chickens.

Everyone was so nice. I had a GREAT time and I will be there for the next one.

Maybe you can wait until closer to the event when they get a head count and then you can figure out how large a dish you need to bring.

Nancy

Yes, sometimes even less than that but please don't metion that to her.

It the cake white, like a sponge, about 1" thick and about a foot in diameter? I don't know the English name either, if that is what it is, we call it "white sugar cake" when directly translated.
