Cari - awesome! Thanks so much for hosting us... Can you send out directions as we get a little closer to the 25th? Do we need to bring anything special? (I'm picturing all of us in CSI-type garb, with goggles, gloves and clean room uniforms...)

Nothing of the sort, just bring/ wear clothes that you don't mind if they get bleach on them and VERY dirty. Shoes with good support and comfortable would probably be best, my land is hilly so be prepared for that. You can bring rubber/ latex gloves if you really want but I find they just get in the way.

Also, I am going to have a shallow tub of water for the bottom of everyones shoes to be dipped in. We will also have hand sanitizer and please make sure all clothes you bring are clean and haven't been into contact with chickens after they were washed/ before you come here. Sorry about the strict bio-security, we had a scare a couple months ago and now I don't want to take any chances. Thank you.

You can also bring a change of clothes so once we are done and ready for the potluck we can clean up and eat.

She was great; very protective. When the time came (and I'm not sure how this was decided), she cut the strings quickly and walked away. She started laying again the very next day...

I hope it happens again. Broodies are the best!
