San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Thanks for asking Dana. I just got a call from the Sheriff's Dept. that we are being advised of a possible evacuation. I'm more worried about losing power since our well in on electricity. I'm filling all containers in case we have an outage that lasts a few days. If we have to evacuate I'll send Dave, the kids and a couple of dogs down the hill and I'll stay with the chickens, horses, and the rest of the gang. I'll play it safe though.

You are welcome to come here if need be... stay safe, okay? I have a 2+ horse trailer if you need to get the horses out.

Thanks Dana! I don't foresee having to evacuate. I think they're playing it extra safe since we live in the land of liability. I'll certainly get a hold of you
if I see flames licking over the hill!!

Oh, my... I shudder seeing stuff like that - it brings back a lot of memories. You guys stay safe! Hopefully the coming cooler weather will help the Cal Fire guys get a handle on this quickly.

I'm doing trailer prep tomorrow to make sure I'm ready to roll at a moment's notice. I hate fire season!
