San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Cari,
I'll be at a Heritage Horse Days Event at Walnut Grove Park 10-2 Sunday volunteering for my daughter's ranch. How or when would be a good time to get my order? I couldn't figure out someone to show up to the meetup for me.
Thanks,
Laura

You could come afterwards to the meet-up if you'd like, I'm positive we'll all still be there at 2.

Otherwise you can come to my house whenever you'd like.

Thanks Cari,
I'll call before coming to the meetup to see if you're there. My mottled Java did a crazy thing yesterday. She got inside the house and so I picked her up and was sitting with her at the desk talking to her...you know, like a normal person would...and her earlobes turned from red to completely white. It was wild! I posted it on the Java thread and yahoo to see what their thoughts were. It has been a fun topic to look up though to see why she might do that and if it was 'normal'. I can make it happen if I pick her up and wait patiently, calmly petting her and it'll happen again. I also noticed the 'squat'. It is hilarious! Oh man, 2 of the pullets are squatting, and its so funny to us, because they look like they're playing football with their feet moving and squatting at the same time. I love chickens. The world is a better place with them!

funny you mentioned this cause i grew up in wis and curds was a soecuial treat for us.I exspecially was fund on them. When we went home last month my mom had 2 bags waiting for me.
they do for sure resemble in looks, flavor and texture to the curds.ill also look up farmers cheese and give that a try to compare.

right now they are in curds and the directions say to put cream on them to make it more like store bought cottage cheese but i like it as it is or i see some of it marinated also.

the link says they loose there squeek within a short time,
im so happy to have found a recipe that resembles my beloved curds.i racked my brain for some time tring to figure out how to make them.

sorry for the essay but im so happy

and yes they are made from goat milk

Sounds good! And WOW that's crazy! I wonder if she is about to start laying and the attention just made her happy enough for them to change!
