so no - no idea on sex!!
Will know how many chicks in the morning.

Parents of lavenders are Harry Shaffer line and the splits are John Blehm.

The roosters in the "EE" pen were a Blue Ameraucana and a lavender Ameraucana, with a selection of black and split lav and other EEs. All the eggs were blue or green.

I would love a pullet or two but need to get my second coop going before committing. I'll check back with you once I get things moving.

Just to show you all how gorgeous these lavender chicks are....these are 3 I got from Phage at the last meet-up. I think they are about 9 weeks old now. Can someone tell me if the one with the round rump is Araucana? Also I think one of the birds is a rooster (photo 1). They are all sweet temperament and so far are holding their own while free ranging with the big girls (who can be a bit mean to newcomers). As you can tell, they are pomegranate crazy. The wheaten ameracauna with the beautiful coloring is from Cari. I love these birds and have not even seen the colered eggs yet. What a bonus.

Miriam, I may be interested in more once I get these settled in their own coop. Thanks for such beautiful birds. For the first time I am becoming interested in maybe hatching some eggs. I know that is a slippery slope, though......

What beautiful birds! I love the lavender color...

I know I was supposed to take a photo of my Cuckoo Marans, and I keep forgetting to do it before the sun goes down. Oy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my BYC/SD friends!

Sue,

That one in the first picture is a boy. He has a big red comb.

The ones next to him in the second picture looks like a girl.

And the one with no tail (if it's an Easter Egger) probably just has the slow feathering gene. You can't technically call him an Araucana unless he came from purebred Araucana parents.

They are very pretty, thanks for sharing!

I will have to post pics of my lavender EE's. I have three, two boys and one girl.
