San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

I got a ideal poultry order today (no chicks dead!!! YaaaYY!!)

PO called me at 5:30am to go get them. I have to say that my PO is very good with all my chick and egg orders. All of the workers are always very inquisitive about what I ship or receive and are so helpful (with the exception of a new guy on our route who threw a box of eggs OVER my fence. Sigh... I tracked him down and explained that I get boxes with live embryos and how they have delicate membranes and showed him that the fence can be pulled open wide enough to slide a package in, so hopefully I will have no more problems.) But who here does not love getting fuzzy butts in the mail? So fun! If you have never tried it, you should. And you can tell your husbands that I corrupted you and made you do it.

Blame me, it's okay....

Well at least UPS says I got it. I haven't been home from work yet. I can't wait to set it up and load it with fertile eggs. Your white EE OE has some fertile eggs in the incubator right now that are developing. I get about 3 eggs per week from her. She is in with the white EE rooster so I'll be sure to show you the chicks that hatch. The first 3 Exchequer Leghorns hatched this week and they are very cute.

YAY!!! this is fabulous news.

If I can give you a hint it is to READ the instructions. I know it will too tempting to just want to skip them!! Want help setting it up?

Great news on the chicks. I just LOVE exchequer leghorns (and their chicks!!).
Any "project" eggs developing? I have some finally developing and put in another 6 today. Can't wait to see how they turn out

My brother just built the new coop and separate area for the project birds so I'll start incubating the eggs in about 3 weeks. I have started to read the instructions and have not plugged anything in yet. If I get stuck I'll let you know. I set up the computers at work so I think it should go okay.
