San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Oh an speaking of bottle babies, the lady I got Ghia and Ghiselle from just emailed me and she is putting Ghia's little baby girl up for sale, I think she is about 8 weeks old now. I want her sooooooooooooooooooo bad, she is a "paint" color like a horse, she is so beautiful!!! I could just melt holding her... I wish I had a little extra money to get her!!!

I want her, and I haven't even seen her. lol

The wind is going nuts here (Clairemont) right now! I don't think I've ever seen it this windy. I'm actually worried about the roof coming off the coop, at this rate.

My girls were outside stretching their legs, and before I could get them in their coop they all came in and sat down on the (tiled, thankfully) floor of my office, with one or two tucking their heads under their wings. They don't even do that when it's cold. Two of them have been doing a growl-type thing today, too, which is new.

The next door neighbor has a big tree that's really moving around, so if I hear a big crack at 2:00 a.m., the girls will have their chance to sleep in the office for the rest of the week.

Blustery day for everyone?

My honey went out and put a bunch of cinderblock on top of the roof, and it stopped doing the moving thing. He then wrapped up the rest of the thing (except the vent edge) like a christmas present, and now I can't see the wind blowing much at all inside, so I feel a little better. Apparently so do the girls, as they deserted my office and have decided that they want to be in there near the food dispenser more than they want comfort from Mom, so they're locked up tight for the night. Isn't that always the way of it.

The direction the tree is blowing now, I think maybe the chicken coop might be a safer bet (if my bedroom is on the "Storm Damage" section of the news tomorrow, I'll wave). Maybe I'll sleep out there with them instead. Either way, I will only make four trips during the night to check on them. Six would be excessive.

Wow - lots of rain coming down now. Stay safe and dry, everyone!
