Miriam - here's all of them. What do you think of the rest? The Am list is silent on the subject...![]()
I looks like a hen and 2 looks like a hen for now. The other 2 are tricky. Neither scream roo but I suspect 4 is A roo, and if 3 continues to get more blue on it it will be a roo.
Our rescued ducks from the lake, Daffodil and Daisy are doing great. Only Daffodil is now Daffy now that HE has matured (ha ha - oops) and Daisy is now laying eggs.
Our Muscovy, Beaker, is no longer with us. He attacked me one too many times and while defending ourselves the last time he got hurt too bad. Very heart broken that we couldn't tame him and very angry with ourselves how it ended. Will still rescue ducks...but maybe only Pekins since we know what to do with them.
But the way, Desert Darlene, I'm open for more ducklings if you find any. Have a few options to rehome them. Places I lined up for Beaker but decided didn't want to give away an attack duck. Let me know.
To all of you having fatalities in the heat...so sorry for your losses. We lost a lot of chicks this summer with the heat. They hatched and died without drying. That was heartbreaking enough, can't imagine how it must feel for one of the adults to go, too.
Although I expressed interest in trying put together a meet-up this month looks like my plate is too full to make it happen. However, still thinking about it in the future so I can get to know all of you.
Sorry for the long, rambling, post. Been lurking from my phone but can't post from there.

I am contemplating using sand in my coop. The featured article suggests river sand. Does anyone know where I could get river sand in San Diego? Thanks.
