Sand for chicken coop? Tube sand/grain size

Yeah and if you look around here there are way more people with flocks that can tell you otherwise.
Commercial houses use wood chips or rice hulls. If sand was so much better they would be using it.

Probably not as it seems the trick is consistent spot cleaning with a litter scoop to discard poop, not sure you could do that on a commercial scale. Also, apparently it absolutely must remain dry so not good on a dirt floor and no water sources.
I’ve also been reading about byc maintenance from this lady who also swears by sand

Many have, but most are scooping poops multiple times a day.
