I’ve never used sand we use straw

@CarleeAnn uses sand and a few other byc members use sand in their duck houses. I am going to give it a try next time I am out and can get some.

In my house I use pine shavings..In the Run I use sand. Totally depends on location

Chickens Roost...Mallard derived don't so bedding is required..Muscovy and wood Ducks Roost.

We use sand in the duck house (a shed). I love it!! You can scoop it like kitty litter and it’s pretty cheap too.

Our run is just dirt (mud when wet) but we plan on doing something different.... just waiting for finances to do so.

Awesome! I've heard it is nice for cleaning, that's why I was intrigued!

I can’t think of anything better. I previously had just pine shavings, I still have shavings in their “nest” area and the eggs are so clean because of the combo shavings and sand!

I keep a metal can with a Walmart bag that I scoop the poo into and just throw it out with the trash. That’s the only thing I’ve seen others complain about, that they can’t use it as fertilizer.
