Sand users: what do you use to scoop?

Technically, I dont use sand, I use a very finely processed hardwood product that has uniform grains about the same as sand. So far, it works great and I can clean the coop in a jiffy :

HOWEVER, The kitty scoop that I use has too big of openings to get the smaller chicken poop. What do people with sand in their coops use to get the bedding in their coop nice and clean?

My husband made me this as a scoop. He used a drill bit box. It works wonderful. I did have to cover the handle with rope(not seen in pic). And for the inside of the coop I use an old slotted spoon.

I am 99% sure I used 1/4".....will have to double check later when I go out to do chores

Don't know the exact dimensions of the holes, but I like my "mud shovel". They come in square as well as more classic pointed varieties.

This scoop has 1/4 inch holes on both the underside (like a kitty litter scoop) as well as the "bottom" (if you were holding it like a coffee mug).

Might work better than a kitty litter scoop.
