Sand

Our chicken pen has a sand box inside. Is it ok for the chicks (aged 6 weeks) to peck around in the sand?

I gave mine a small container with sand in it at around 3 weeks old. They took to taking dust baths right away and love it! And it's totally fine for them to eat some of the sand. They don't have teeth so sand dirt and even rocks help them digest their food.
