I wanted to post a separate thread to this rather than put it under the San Diego topic. Apparently, the Santee city council tried to relax the rules with chicken keeping so that more people can raise chickens in their backyards. But, the opponents say that people raising chickens will attract more coyotes to the area. So, for now, the proposal was shot down.
Seriously, they think the chickens will attract more coyotes than there already are around there? I see coyotes everywhere, not just where poultry are kept. I live in an apartment surrounded by other apartment buildings and there were coyotes here. They're just as attracted to roaming cats as they are chickens.
