Sapphire gem chick gender

So I was told this chick was a pullet and that sapphire gem chicks are very easy to sex at hatch because of a spot on their head. My chick did not have a spot but it’s just over 4 weeks and looks suspiciously like a roo with the waddles coming in a bit bigger comb and legs. What does everyone think? Also if it makes a difference it’s from a hatchery.

I don't think it is a Sapphire Gem because it appears to be a white skinned bird, not a yellow skinned bird. So maybe a blue Australorp, Andalusian or Marans. So not sex linked at all if I am right.

However, the comb/wattles don't seem that large to me at this point, so I'd give it some more time before making a final judgement.

The bin said sapphire gem but honestly I don’t care about the breed just wanted a grey hen to add to my flock. Hopefully it’s a hen. I have a black australorp and she is the sweetest and I love maran eggs so I’m up for anything

I'm a newbie too but I have 3 sapphire gem chicks about 5 weeks old and looks like a sapphire gem to me. I can't say gender bc I'm perplexed myself but I'm not seeing barring so maybe ok? All mine have large combs already and I did read they get them early, same w the thick legs. Fingers crossed for you!

Also you could try sending a pic to the hatchery to see if they could tell you!

Well that makes me feel better. I’m going to wait a few more week cause I feel it will be obvious. Can you post pictures of yourse? Mine is just over 4 weeks. How old is yourse?
