This is what my chick looked like at 2 weeks.... and is now clearly a female. She was much bigger and lighter than the other one.
Just bought a couple of these today. Look like 3-5 weeks old.Sapphire gems are supposed to be sex linked and this one was sold as a pullet, but I still have some doubts7 weeks old. Males are supposed to show barring.

I know it's been a while since the original post but at the point of the photo that looks like a saphire gem pullet. They have laced feathers as that one does. The spot on the head would have stayed until the head feathered out. But I have seen some conflicting info on how prominent the spot is to begin with. I'm pretty sure when it talks about barring on the roos it means barring like on a barred rock . I am thinking pullet, can't see the one whose comb is cropped outI realize this is an old post but was wondering if anyone could tell me if I have pullets, approx 8 weeks in this pic
