It was, I just didn't know about the coloring... he was yellow with pretty racing stripes, rather than reddish with pretty racing stripes. I just had no idea at the time that chickens commonly get mis-labeled, and I did zero breed research before buying my chicks. I've learned a lot in the past month or so, but, as the saying goes, you don't know what you don't know.

What I DO know now is that all that I DON'T know about chickens could easily fill a full set of encyclopedias. 😆

They have a whole website on things I don't know about chickens...🙄 sometimes even purebred from better sources are riddles.
