Can anybody explain why DD is a pure example of one but rocky and twilight are different colors

all three of your chickens are hens, males are way more light gray than those and plus the males have a bit of barring Oh and only males have yellow legs and females have dark legs.
Your girls are very pretty
Did they start laying now?

They Have, you are correct they are all hens. They are consistent layers everyday. The excitement when you see your first egg. LoL

yeah its a male he’s behind the groth schedule his name is rocky the one beside him is twilight and the one by himself in the other photo is DD

Just found this thread! New to sapphire gems, but currently have 4 chicks aged about 9 weeks. I enjoy seeing all the pictures! Mine already have four very different personalities! One thinks I'm her dust bath and immediately climbs into my lap to do that when she's allowed to.

I do have one question... With roosters, would the barring be evident by this age? I have one chick that is just...built different. This chick was very late to get wing and tail feathers, is more standoffish than the others (though still sweet), has a more upright stance and we joke that it looks like it spends a lot of time at the gym . Very sturdy and muscular, legs and feet a bit bigger than the others (not wildly so) but no barring and so far feathers seem very similar to the others in terms of coloring. Comb and wattles also look on par with the others. Do I just have a jacked pullet? I did not notice any white spot when I got the chicks.

As soon as mine started growing feathers I could tell if they were a rooster or Pullet so yes if you had any roosters it would be showing by now
