Hi,

Just bought some chicks from a hatchery. A couple of my chicks have pasty butts. It's been so long since I've seen it, I don't remember how to handle it. I bought them the save a chick probiotic and electrolytes, but I do not remember how long I am supposed to leave it in there. So far I left it in there over night and they were all acting kinda of mopey until I took it out and offered regular water. How long am I supposed to offer this to them?

What I did about my chicks this time for pasty butts is, all you need are some q tips and warm water. I just soak one end of the q tip in warm water and just rub around the stuck poo and fluuf around it. It will eventually fall off and it's feathers will fluff back up so don't worry about that! You might need someone to hold the chick while you do the q tip. It might be easier that way. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your reply. We were able to clean their bottoms. I am just wondering about the Save a Chick. I'm not sure how long I am supposed to give it to them to stop the pasty butt from happening again and again and help their digestive system.
