Okay! I brought in the expert.... GUM-by!!!

HE says that its CANDY!!

When I asked my mom for a piece of candy, I never one time got a stick of gum, or a double bubble. I got CANDY.

Yeah, like sucking on a cigarette and not inhaling... They really do swallow when they're chewing gum, much as they tell you they're not.

if I asked for candy and got gum I would think that is a rip-off, but I would think the same of cheep candy.
