I have always been fascinated with "interspecies" relationships like this--especially when it's predator and prey animals bonding! Thanks for sharing your wonderful photo's--what a great story. I'm sure you are having the best time with your babies. So glad you enjoyed these pics.I enjoyed taking them and I just love to show off my babies.
My kids love it!!!Love the pictures of the duckling with the cat. It reminds me of this...
The kittens are all in great homes now but the little duck I named Fido has finally started spending his days in the pond and racing after bugs with the other ducklings and ducks. He does not go into the duck house at night though. He came right back out and followed me inside the house where he went on to drink and eat and finally laid down on my bare foot and fell fast asleep. I will continue to let him in the house at night until the morning when he goes back out to spend the day with his new pals.
I thought it was pretty amazing for him to actually get up on the kittens to sleep.. was too cute for me not to take a picture.
It is really something to see the cats treat him like he was one of them. I guess the maternal instinct of the cat was strong enough for her to bond with the duckling.
I am very interested in seeing all your ducks.Let me know when you post pics.,
This is so cute! I just love seeing pics of ducklings in different situations.. This is really nice.He sounds like such a little doll--I sure wish mine would sleep on my feet like that! They were never real affectionate but they come running to see us now, take treats and nibble on our fingers so that's an improvement. Here's my only pic of them together when they were babies. Unfortunately one passed away from some kind of respiratory ailment but the others are doing fantastic. The ducky in a basket is my female crested.
