Saved two new chickens from a slaughter house!

Oh yes. I didn't mean to take away from that.

Besides I found the thread and see my mistake now.

I was confusing the leghorn type birds used in the industry for laying eggs with meat birds. Apparently some countries use different breeds for egg laying then we do.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to argue. I was just trying to figure out the difference between what I was being told. My mistake though, not anyone elses.

It doesn't matter what breed they are, that is why we all congratulated her for saving them.

I was just curious, because I thought it was odd that she would find them at a slaughter house.

This thread illustrates the huge chasm between the Pet Chicken and the Production Chicken owners on this board.

Personally, I don't see this as a rescue since the chickens in question were destined to a productive end as a source of protein for humans or animals. This is completely different than the rescue of dogs and cats that are being abused or neglected by their owners.

NOT a rescue? What planet are you from? I agree with hooligan, as long as they were saved from death then it is a rescue... IMO :|

Year of the rooster. The "what planet are you from?" is in an insulting context. Please refer back to the forum rules.

Thanks guys! And ya, it was kinda strange that they had those breeds at the slaughter house...
