saving the skin & feathers

I had a small Quail get suffocated at the feeder prematurely. My friend wants the skin and feathers for fly fishing. How do I preserve them?

I would seal it in a ziploc bag and put it in the freezer.

Borax is the norm. Pin it to a piece of cardboard feathers down and cover with borax for a few days.
