The SO and I went to the nearest big town for my dr's appt today and as a treat he took me to a brand new farm supply store that just opened. He caught me drooling over an incubator and is this<~~~~~~> close to forbidding me from hanging around y'all anymore

Seriously, an incubator that comes with a USB plug and software so you can control everything from your 'puter??? What reason will I have to get up from my computer desk anymore??
P.S. He bought me dinner too, but playing with all the chicken stuff at the store was way better than the meal!

Seminole, here ya go:

They're not cheap compared to an ordinary bator. I liked this feature listed:

Automatic mode where the user selects a species the incubator is automatically preset with the ideal conditions for that species.

I'm wondering how to convince santa I've been THAT good?!?

As with everything you can remotely control, you still depend on sensors and if the thermometer was off, the computer can tell you great, you have only a one degree fluctuation day to night, but in reality it can mean more. Plus, it can't add water or watch eggs hatch.

Yep, that's it! Check out web address above. I can't believe I'm actually thinking of incubating my own eggs, assuming I could find brahma eggs (which I doubt).

Very true silkie, but it sure was fun to play with! The bators for normal poor people like myself were $45 at the store. I probably could find a used one cheaper, but I don't like buying used on something that is important for it to have proper function.

While all the features are nice. It also means there are far more things to wear out and go POOF!
No doubts everything is on one circuit board, which means $$$$ to replace.

Wow... that Brinsea Bator is only 399.99!! I'm going to ask my DH for one for Christmas...

. Maybe if they come down in price...like I'd pay $150. But geeshe they only have a 20 egg capacity for chicken eggs.

I LUV that Contaq Z6! It mimics a hen. It provides warm contact from above, turns the eggs, and lifts off once a day like a hen would go eat, etc. Just like Mom!!!!
