Scalped chick to swollen to open eyes

I have a two day old chick born under a broody. However, because she was a late hatch, mom abandoned her and scalped her. That has scalped up nicely, but because of the swelling, the chick cannot open it's eyes. What can I give her to help the swelling?

Didn't even know animals could use it. Right now, she is getting eye infection ointment, but that doesn't help with the actual swelling.

That's just an anti-itch cream. Cortisone is a steroid and acts on swollen tissue and inflamed tissues.

I would not use Benadryl.

I was thinking about the pill too. The avian Benadryl dose is minuscule and I don't think there is a safe way to dose a chick with it.
