Does anyone know how long I should tube feed her for? She’s still not interested in food but I’m just wondering if tube feeding for too long will cause her any problems

You can cut back and see if she is going to eat on her own. I wish I had told you to give her children's liquid aspirin for pain relief. 0.10ml twice daily will help with the pain and maybe get her to start eating as well. It will make her sleepy, but that helps with recovery.

No she has no interest in food I even tried to give her mealworms earlier and she didn’t want them. I’ll pick some up tomorrow and see how that helps. She has definitely gotten more spunky since I started tube feeding her plus her eye is looking a lot better so we’re making progress like I said I just don’t want to hurt her by tube feeding too much but I guess she’ll let me know when she’s ready to eat on her own. Thank you so much for all your help!

Now I have a new question. I imagine her head is starting to get itchy from where it’s healing and I didn’t see it but I think she was scratching with her foot and busted some of the places open. She was in my bedroom when this happened and it looked like a crime scene in here from all the blood! How can I keep her from continuing to bust it open? I attempted to wrap it and as long as I held her she was fine but as soon as I put her on the floor she was slinging her head all around like an ostrich and obviously couldn’t handle it. Is there anything else I can try?

Not sure, maybe give her something else to think about. Maybe wrap a piece of tape around each talon.

I just wanted to give an update. She’s doing so good! She still walks around with her mouth open a lot but she started eating on her own last night! I noticed that she has trouble “hitting” the food with her beak though. I’m not sure what’s causing that but we’re definitely making progress! Also here are some update pictures of her eye. It looks amazing! I’m so happy!

Also just a curious question that’s going to sound really silly. Has anyone ever diapered a peahen? What would work the best?
