Scalped Pullet!!

My pullet had been stuck in between the bars of her cage. When I went to help her I noticed she had been scalped on the entire side of her head. There is no skin and it's bloody. I put betadine on it. She is only a month.What else can I do? Will she survive?

This happened to one of my chickens, except we think the dog did it. She survived, even though we didn't put anything on it.

Since you've given her some medication already, I would just wait and see. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Hope she gets well soon.z

I think I'd put neosporin on it....something with a petroleum base. Seems like betadine would sting. Separate her from the others so she doesn't get pecked.
