scaly and thick white chicken legs

The following picture shows the legs of one of the 'rexcue' chickens that we took in, it is possibly the chicken that may have laid the 'lash egg', which I asled about in a separate thread. An egg which was not actually an egg, but was like a hard boiled egg in uncooked pastry. it turned out that the 'yellow' was actually 'puss'. Yuk and horrible but a very useful article enclosed in the reply. now I have to find that chicken and am wonderfing if the one with the problem legs is the sick one. Please anyone who can tell me what is wrong with this hen. Thank you.also attached the 'lash' egg.

Scaly leg mites.
View media item 7895288Get something like this and spray her legs daily for a week.
A good soak in warm epsom salt water and a soft scrub with a toothbrush will help get some of the mite poop out.
Don't scrub too much though you can cause an infection.
It will take a few weeks for the legs to return back to normal.
