Rosemarie...gonna give you an excellent remedy that an old mountain lady gave to me for cold sores. I used to get them all the time, ever since I was a little girl, but now that I know this remedy, I never have them occur any longer. This is going to sound gross but it works like a charm each and every time....ear wax. When you first feel that tingle and itch of a cold sore coming on and before it erupts, just place some ear wax on the spot. It doesn't have to be a lot..just a tiny dab will do it. The next day it will be gone..tingle, itch, redness or tenderness and all. Just gone.

Haven't had a cold sore in many a long year now because of that little pearl of wisdom!

Night, Hon! Happy canning!

When we where at our local feed barn we asked about scaly leg mite because some of our hens have it and straght away he said WD40 (the car water repelent ) i havnt tried it yet but he didnt evan recomend a product at his store straight away he said WD40 so its worth a try

I wouldn't use WD40. Mineral oil (dip legs daily for 2 weeks) works well, as will veg oil. Vaseline works too I hear but I tried Bag Balm and didn't get as good of coverage as with the oil (because the oil is easier).

Here's some interesting info on WD40....

This castor oil really is a one time application type treatment and it costs just a few dollars for a small bottle that goes a long, long way. It works better than anything I've tried in the past and that includes the NuStock, and really out does all the cooking oils, vaselines, bag balms, and other kinds of oils.

Thank you Bee! I have basically kept one for about 2 1/2 years now due to my health. Having some thyroid issues and not getting any results with the Dr's. :( Hey I'd rather use my OWN ear wax than some of those meds from the Dr's.
I got 39 pints of the salsa. FINALLY got it all finished this evening and I am one tired person and am going to hit it again early tonight. lol Hubby made me something today that I think I am REALLY going to enjoy!! I had told him I was going to make me a frame for my old cypress swing so I can sit out under the pines and watch the chicks on days when I can sit out there with them. I really have a hard time just sitting and being still.

anyway when we closed in our front porch for me a sewing room (was NEVER used and I needed a sewing and craft room) so we had a swing out there and it was moved and wasn't being used. BUT since it's not cypress and the older one was, I put the one that was just wood up under the patio and using the cypress one on the frame he made me. Anyway he wanted to make the frame so he put that together for me today. Now we got to get it moved to the pines.

It's VERY heavy! Anyway I had all this stuff to make it from but 1 1x4 that he had to buy since the one I was going to use was split all the way down he said.

Tickled to have me a frame for the swing now. That's our spoiled boston terrier in the pic with him. He was trying out the swing and told me, don't take a pic of me I look trashy. lol he was soaking wet with sweat. Man it's sooooo hot here right now.
