Was wondering if this is scaly leg mite or not?
I noticed it about a couple weeks ago, but it doesn’t look like any others of my flock has it.

Feathered legs often have weird scales, but wouldn't hurt to coat them in lard or somethingWas wondering if this is scaly leg mite or not?

He’s almost two, so not really old?I'd guess more likely scales of an elderly bird, but it would not hurt to treat him just in case.

Okay! Our other Silkie rooster doesn’t seem to have scales like this though. They were from the same shipment and hatchery.Feathered legs often have weird scales, but wouldn't hurt to coat them in lard or something
Just curious, why cut the spur? They don’t free range and I don’t think he would protect the girls anywaysI would put some red kote on it, you can find it at tractor supply, and IMHO I would cut the spur, unless you have em free ranging alot so he can protect the flock. Good luck
