As some of you may know, I picked up 2 chickens yesterday. Can y'all please look at these pics and tell me if it's normal? One is of my frizzle(one of the ones I picked up yesterday) and the other is of my ee rooster(the one on the perch) that I bought several months ago. I bought these from the same lady. Thank y'all.

I've dealt with what that looks like one time. It was some kinda mites in the leg scales. I forget the name. Anyway, the trick is to rub their legs in Vaseline and it'll suffocate them. Do it for a few days to a week. Also, totally clean out their coop and rub mineral oil everywhere before re-bedding.

Their coop is a chain linked fence with some tin looking stuff around it. And a dirt floor. That's gonna be fun..smh. lol. I have some Vaseline in the cabinet. I'll get it on them asap! Thank you!

Well the tin won't hold the mites as far as I know. Maybe just turning the dirt and putting some poultry dust down will help. The Vaseline is the most important part.

Turn the top layer is soil after you put down some dicotomus earth(DE). Then apply more DE on top. The DE will kill the mites in the dirt and the Chooks will dust bathe in it!
Mixing a little into their food will help as well.
Get either Vasiline ( sticky and messy) or some VetRX. The VetRX will help with the itching as well as help them breathe better and smells good!
Good luck!
