Morning all - hope you and your poultry are well. I have a Orpington X 4 year old hen that has the scaliest legs - none of the others do - she is eating well and laying regular (still) but lately eggs have been wrinkled (but hard shell) yesterday she laid an egg with no shell... She seem's well in herself has access to good quailty food water and has shell and grit avail adhoc... Are her scaly legs associated with the egg problems? Many thanks.

Without photos it's hard to tell but I'm guessing she has scaly leg mite. You'll need to start researching! I believe soaking a chicken's legs in oil is supposed to help.

After the vaseline, I've sprayed their legs with healthy dose of PAM.

They seem no worse for the wear and legs look so much better.
