Scam???

Been trying to get a hold of her via email. Whatever it was, I blocked the Yahoo email as spam and no more heard from "it" when I responded back its a SPAM! "it" kept saying it is not a spam and I told It if that Yahoo don't stop, I'm going to report it. Whatever it was, it ended it.

Hopefully she didn't pay the 650 dollars or make sure she puts a stop to it. I don't honestly think she has that kind of money to spend. I am also checking with her friends as well to see if she acted on this or was it a spammer hacking into her emails.

I was thinking the same thing. Have you actually talked on the phone with your friend and heard your friend's voice? Sounds like the same scam that I saw on TV a few weeks ago. People lost millions of dollars by sending their money to some bank. The thing is that these people thought that it was legit because this bank was actually sending them monthly checks for about 10 months and then the checks stopped. The thing is, the bank was sending them back their own money.

This company was exposed and charges were filed on them.

Please do not send them any money.

Well considering this is targeting deaf individuals that would depend on both people having the phone equipment to talk to each other.

Awwww, this is so complicated. I am so sorry this is happening.

Definitely a SCAM. Never ever give your credit card or bank account information to someone that contacts you using from a "free" email service such as yahoo, hotmail, or google/gmail.

Never PAY money to get Money!!! Period!!!

The title of the thread told me it was a scam. If you wonder, it no doubt is. I hope this got reported to Yahoo and whoever else would be appropriate. If the OP and her friend are both deaf, they both no doubt have phones for the deaf (TTY? or whatever it's called.) Not much point in having a phone otherwise, now, is there?
